New in Qmail DeLuxe² release 1.25 05-19-92
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
■ The 1.20 and 1.21 releases both experienced problems and lockups
if you turned on SuperShell. Some systems didn't show this
problem (unfortunately, our test systems were included in that
group) but the problem was tracked down to the SuperShell
modules themselves. Fixed.
■ When you use the @CONF@ variable the reader replaces all
periods with "_"'s so you can archive Usenet newsgroups.
■ You are now able to use "ALIASES" that your sysop can give
you in our Qmail Door system. This means that if your sysop
allows it, you can use alias names in conferences they setup
up for aliases.
Remember, your sysop has full control of this feature. THEY must
give you the alias entries and they must determine which
conferences will accept alias entries.
If you do use an alias entry then DeLuxe² will suppress the
serial number in the tagline so you will not be traced by your
serial number.
■ Changes were made in the message archive section to help those
who reported that they are never asked for a filespec when
archiving messages. Instead, the reader would archive all
messages to NOTES.TXT. Fixed.
■ You can now add Fido-style taglines "on the fly" by using a new
"at-variable" named "@FIDO@" on a single line in your reply. If
you include this variable in your reply then the tagline will
switch, for that message only, into a fido-compliant tagline.
■ If you edit a reply from yourself then you are placed in the
REPLY mode so you may edit your original message.
■ You can now use @variables in the file export filespec.
■ Added support for DOOR.ID, specifically for two commands
within DOOR.ID. If "MIXEDCASE = YES" is found in the file then
the reader will let you use upper and lower case names and
subjects. If "FIDOTAG = YES" is found then the reader
automatically uses Fido-compliant taglines.
■ Added the "/386" moniker back to 386 versions of the reader.
■ Fixed a display problem in the configuration utility where it
would show the command to execute when exiting DeLuxe² in the
wrong position.
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
New in Qmail DeLuxe² release 1.21 12-07-91
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
■ Fixed a problem that surfaced in the 1.20 release. If you tried
to view large files (like new file lists) the reader would
display a "string space corrupt" error. This has been fixed in
this release.
■ Fixed a problem when displaying large ANSI files. If the file
did not include a CR/LF within 2,048 bytes the reader would not
show the file. Fixed.
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
New in Qmail DeLuxe² release 1.20 11-15-91
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
■ Qmail DeLuxe² now supports up to 800 messages per conference (up
from only 200 messages per conference). Now you can get more
mail at one time without downloading multiple packets.
■ The MESSAGES.DAT file is closed before a shell to DOS. This
allows programs like BBQWK to work with MESSAGES.DAT. The file
is automatically reopened when you return back to the reader.
■ Fixed a bug with truncating archive filespecs.
■ Changed the FIDO tagline back to "* DeLuxe²"
■ The reader determines if LIST should be called on long display
files.
■ Fixed an overflow error in the ZIPPY keyword search. The ZIPPY
search also shows "blocks" on the bottom line when it finds a
message.
■ Doubled the number of lines displayed in the internal file
viewer from 200 to 400 lines.
■ Function keys now work in the virtual keyboard.
■ ANSI graphics are now stripped from messages if you have turned
off ANSI graphics in messages.
■ International dates are now displayed in DD-MM-YY format if
COUNTRY.SYS has been set.
■ Fixed a bug with ANSI music. The reader now plays any text
starting with <ESC>[M
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
New in Qmail DeLuxe² release 1.12 06-05-91
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
■ Qmail DeLuxe² will now let you view a message with 225 lines
without shelling out to LIST.
■ Qmail DeLuxe² has full support for a ZIPPY string search. You
scan search all messages, messages in only one conference, exclude
taglines and messages you've already read.
In order to perform a ZIPPY message scan all you need to do is to
press the letter "Z" while reading messages. You can search all
messages in the packet, in the current conference, messages you
have already read and exclude taglines.
The ZIPPY function returns you back to the current conference and
message you were in when you first executed the ZIPPY command.
For more information about the ZIPPY command just press [ALT+H]
after you press the "Z" command to execute a ZIPPY search.
■ Full support for the Sparkware Usenet Gateway is now available.
If you reply to a Usenet message then the reader automatically
sets up your reply to conform with gateway standards. The reader
even adds the "UN: " to the front of your subject automatically
or addresses it to USENET GATEWAY (if it is a Usenet mail message).
■ Message filespecs for archiving messages are now checked to make
sure SPACES are converted into underscores.
■ Qmail DeLuxe² now checks to see that the target subdirectory
actually exists before the message is archived. This lets you use
archive filespecs like:
C:\D2\ARCHIVES\#CONTROL(6)\#CONF#
So each BBS' archived messages are stored in a seperate subdirectory.
(Change all #'s to @'s in the above example).
■ If you use the "Enter messages without a reply packet on file"
then DeLuxe² will now check the .REP packet if it exists to see
which archiver was used to create it.
■ If a conference was not listed in the conference menu but was
included in the message packet (or REPLIES too) then the reader
would display JUNK for the conference name in the message header.
It now displays the conference number with "-Not
